Tinnitus Support helps people find tinnitus clinics and learn about treatment options. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Tinnitus Support is run by AKME LLC, doing business as Audflow, based in Prescott, Arizona (“we” or “us”).
The short version
- You can use the whole site without telling us who you are. There are no accounts or logins.
- We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
- The site does not set cookies or use tracking tools from advertisers.
- We do not use the pages you read to build a health profile about you.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
What we collect
When you ask to list a clinic. The listing form asks for the clinic’s details and your name, role, email address, and phone number. We use these to reply to you and set up the listing. Anything that goes into a published clinic profile is public.
When you email us. We keep your message and email address so we can reply.
When you search. Searching by city or ZIP code happens in your browser, and we do not keep a record of it. If you press “Use my location,” your browser asks your permission first, and your location stays in your browser. It is used only to sort clinics from nearest to farthest.
When you visit. Like any website, the site receives basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser, device, and the pages you visit. Our hosting provider keeps this in short-term logs to run the site and keep it secure. We also count visits with Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify you. It shows us totals, such as how many people read a page or tapped a clinic’s phone number, so we can improve the site.
Your health information
Reading about tinnitus can feel personal, and the pages you visit could suggest something about your health. We do not use them to build a profile about you, we do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Reviews on clinic pages
The reviews on clinic pages come from each clinic’s public Google profile. We show reviews about tinnitus care, with the reviewer’s first name only. If you wrote one and would like it removed from Tinnitus Support, email us at info@tinnitus.support and we will take it down.
Who we share information with
We do not share your information with clinics. If you call or visit a clinic’s website, anything you share is between you and them, and their privacy policy applies.
We use a few trusted companies to run the site: Netlify (hosting), Sanity (content), Cloudflare, Protomaps, OpenStreetMap, and OpenFreeMap (maps), ReviewHub (reviews), Basin (the listing form), and Plausible (visitor counts). They may only use information to provide their service to us.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or if Tinnitus Support is sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply.
How long we keep it
We keep listing requests and emails only as long as we need them to reply, set up and update listings, and keep proper records. Server logs are kept for a short time, usually a few days to a few weeks.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Some states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia, give their residents extra rights, and we honor those too. We will never treat you differently for asking.
To make a request, email info@tinnitus.support. We may ask you to confirm a few details so we know the request came from you, and we will reply within the time your state’s law allows.
Children and visitors outside the US
Tinnitus Support is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and you need to be 18 or older to send a listing request. The site is run from the United States, so information is handled in the US under this policy.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and we will add a short notice on the site for any significant change.
