Two doctors of audiology, Dr. Heather Smith and Dr. Emily Byorth, care for patients at the Marysville office on Lydia Drive. Formerly Maze Hearing and Balance, the clinic now belongs to Family Audiology and Hearing Centers, a locally and family-owned practice since 1985. Hearing specialist Terry Burris and patient care coordinator Rachael Gordon round out the team.
Tinnitus visits begin with a thorough look at your symptoms: what the sound is like, how severe it is, and how it affects your life. A complete hearing evaluation follows, then a plan made for you. That plan may include sound therapy, which layers gentle sound over the ringing so it stands out less, along with counseling to help you cope. Having a few issues hearing the husband when he is in another room and lots of ringing in my ears. Finally decided I need to get this checked again. Came to Family Audiology and Terry did my hearing test. Have gotten hearing tests the last couple years and we are watching it. It is at the point we need help with hearing aids and I do believe I came to the right place. Been just a couple weeks and am hearing the husband so much better. Took my puppy dog out and it sounded like 15 dogs barking and could hear the crickets like they were on my shoulder. Everything so much clearer!! Thank you Terry and Rachel for all of your help!!
