Tinnitus clinic in Columbia, SC

HearSense in Columbia offers two tinnitus options that can be used on their own or together. Lenire is a prescription device authorized by the FDA through the De Novo pathway for adults with at least moderate tinnitus. It pairs sound through headphones with mild electrical pulses on the tongue, and you use it at home for about an hour a day after the clinic sets it up. Oto is an app-based program for adults that combines sound with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) exercises, about ten minutes a day over three months.

Care starts with a detailed tinnitus evaluation of about 90 minutes, covering your hearing, the pitch and loudness of your tinnitus, and its effect on sleep and daily life. Dr. Megan Thomas, CCC-A, is the practice's audiologist and sees children and adults. Hearing aids from Phonak, ReSound, Widex, and Oticon are available. To book, call (803) 567-2533 or visit 115 Atrium Way, Suite 102, Columbia, SC 29223.

I stopped into Hear Sense SC on Friday to find out about making an appointment for a hearing test due to tinnitus. Immediately upon entering the facility I had a very good feeling. The office is very down to earth, nothing fancy, I meet Dr Laura Eng the audiologist and was very impressed. Dr Eng administered the test the following week, she was extremely thorough explaining everything along the way. We went over the results she described what they were in a way that I easily understood. She explained that I would benefit greatly from a hearing aid for my high frequency hearing loss and for tinnitus. No pressure just a conversation explaining how it would help my situation. I am very confident that dr Eng will take excellent care to make sure I am fitted properly for my hearing aid. I highly recommend Hear Sense SC.
